Born out of a desire to celebrate culture, love, and community during Black History Month, Fern Stroud, Founder of Black Vines®, organizes local winemakers, artists, musicians to create a tasting experience that draws nearly 2,000 patrons and more than 30 vintners in a single day.
The site of this year’s sell out event, its’ 15th annual, occurs Saturday, February 28th, 2026, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, at CIEL Creative Space, 2611 EighthStreet, Berkeley, California 94710.

Varner PR Agency partnered with Juma Ventures to help spread the word about Juma’s YouthConnect program that provides more than 500 young people with their first job, along with mentorship, professional workshops, customer service skills, resume-building opportunities, interview practice, and pathways to financial independence.
Big Brothers Big Sisters Bay Area Step Into The Spotlight For The Big Game
Varner PR partnered with Big Brother Big Sisters Bay Area to amplify their programming during Super Bowl 60 weekend, being held in San Fransisco. The NFL, 100 Black Men Bay Area and Gillette are all behind this this event to promote mentorship for Bay Area youths.

Healthy Living
Festival 2025
Varner PR led sponsorship outreach, media promotion, and content development for the 2025 Healthy Living Festival — a sold-out celebration that drew nearly 4,000 older adults to the Oakland Zoo. Hosted by United Seniors of Oakland and Alameda County Supervisor Nate Miley, this signature event highlights healthy aging across the region and continues to uplift older adults who are living longer, staying active, and thriving in community.

Varner PR coordinated a high-impact press conference announcing AASEG’s reconfirmed agreement with the City of Oakland to purchase and redevelop the Oakland Coliseum site. The event amplified visibility for AASEG’s vision as a Black-led development group advancing a multi-billion-dollar, mixed-use project focused on economic equity and generational change in East Oakland.

Dallas, TX
Varner PR brought together journalists, clinicians & subject matter experts who convened in Dallas, TX to have a dialogue and develop strategies that will increase the number of news stories about the rate of new infections for African Americans in the southern United States. The event was a collaboration between Varner PR and Region III of the National Association of Black Journalists. The symposium was sponsored by Gilead Sciences.
